GREAT DEBUTE FOR MARC FREIXA AT SPANISH OUTDOOR OPENER
Penarroya, Spain, February 26 2008

Jitsie rider Marc Freixa made a promising debute at the Spanish outdoor opener last Sunday with a fifth place finish overall at the 'X trial el Pinon' in Penaroya.

It was Freixa's first ride aboard his new bike for the GRO-Non Stop Bikes team. Although the new tubular prototype hadn't arrived yet before this race, Freixa made an impressive start to the first lap. The system in the Spanish championship hass dramatically changed this season with riders doing only 1 lap but riding in groups of three and doing each section twice.

Unfortunately, Freixa had to ride the last couple of sections in the rain which made them quite a bit more difficult to clean. His direct competitors Fujinami and Cabestany went through without major problems just before in dry conditions which resulted in Freixa losing two positions late in the race.

Freixa commented after the trial:"I am quite happy with the way I rode today. My new bike is awesome and the team around are very supportive. If the rain hadn't made the sections more difficult for me, for sure I would have ended up on the podium."

Freixa's next race will be the opening round of the World outdoor championship in Ettelbruck at the end of March.
